New Christmas Album From Jim Jones "12 Days Of Xmas"

By giving his fans a new album just in time for the holidays, Jim Jones hopes to spread some festive cheer.

With the release of 12 Days of Xmas on Wednesday (December 14), the Harlem holiday fanatic celebrates his favorite season of the year with a number of musicians on his Vampire Life label.

Several of Capo’s appearances on the 18-track project are joined by those of up-and-coming rappers Dyce Payso, Mr. Chicken, Ditta, Tim Vocals, AlleyCat TheRapper, Dilla Illa, 34Zeussy, and Keen Streetz.

Funny skits from comedian Rayy Rayy, the newest member of the Vampire Life family, serve as the album’s unifying theme.

“Comedy and music have always been synonymous for me. “One compliments the other,” Jones said in a press release. “I’ve been watching Rayy Rayy grind and make so many people laugh since I first noticed him during the pandemic.

“He’s helped with the decision to start signing comedians – not verbally through conversation, but through his comedy.” So when I decided to make 12 Days of Xmas, it was only right that I have Rayy Rayy host his debut on Vamp Life Comedy.”

With songs like “Big Gifts,” which combines classic Christmas carols with New York’s distinctive drill sound, and “Xmas Eve,” which is anchored by a Christmas piano melody, 12 Days of Xmas is more than simply a Christmas album by name.

Having already published A Dipset Xmas in 2006 and A Tribute to Bad Santa Starring Mike Epps in 2008 with his Skull Gang collective, Jim Jones is no stranger to recording his passion for the holiday.

The Dipset Don had a busy year that was capped off by the release of “12 Days of Xmas.” He continued his late-career comeback in 2022 by releasing two projects: The Lobby Boyz LP alongside Maino and We Set the Trends, a Gangsta Grillz mixtape presented by DJ Drama.

With the release of singles like “Rich Hustle” with Fabolous, “Gunshot” with Hitmaka and BEAM, and a star-studded remix of “We Set the Trends” with Lil Wayne, Migos, Juelz Santana, and DJ Khaled, Capo has expanded his discography even further.

He has also appeared frequently in guest features, including DJ Drama’s “Forever” with Fabolous, Benny The Butcher, and Capella Grey; 38 Spesh and Harry Fraud’s “Beyond Belief,” Jay Worthy and Larry June’s “2 P’z in a Pod,” and Cam’ron and A-“U Trak’s Wasn’t There.”
