New Album From Ll Cool J Promised For 2023

LL Cool J has said that his first full-length effort in ten years will be out this year, giving fans some hints as to what to anticipate.

The pioneering former Def Jam Records musician shared a video of himself receiving a personalized piece of art from his DJ Z-Trip for his special day, despite not explicitly acknowledging his 55th birthday on Twitter on Saturday (January 14).

He also shared one major plan for the year. “I’m competing with myself on this new album. Wait til you hear this MF. [musical notes emoji],” LL tweeted. “This year B. It’s coming.”

Five years following the release of his final Def Jam album, Exit 13, LL COOL J’s last record, Authentic, was released in 2013. From 1987 through 2008, the rapper produced albums for the renowned label, releasing one every two to three years.

This is not the first time LL COOL J has hinted to an Authentic sequel. The “Around The Way Girl” rapper discussed his upcoming G.O.A.T. 2 album, the follow-up to his eighth studio album, in several interviews from 2014.
