Netflix and Spotify Announce Partnership to Stream Video Podcasts Starting in 2026

Netflix and Spotify have announced a new partnership that will bring Spotify’s video podcasts to Netflix beginning in early 2026, marking the first time Spotify content will appear outside its own platform.

The long-term collaboration introduces a new type of on-demand content to Netflix’s library, while giving Spotify access to a wider global audience. The deal includes select podcasts from Spotify Studios and The Ringer, such as The Bill Simmons Podcast, The Zach Lowe Show, The McShay Show, The Rewatchables, and Conspiracy Theories, with more titles to follow as the partnership expands.

Initially, the video podcasts will be available to Netflix users in the U.S., with rollout to additional regions planned later in the year. The agreement comes amid growing demand for video podcasts, a format that has seen rapid adoption across platforms like YouTube.

Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos had previously hinted at the possibility of adding podcasts to the platform, citing audience interest in diverse types of storytelling.

“At Netflix, we’re always looking for new ways to entertain our members, wherever and however they want to watch,” said Lauren Smith, Netflix’s vice president of content licensing and programming strategy. “With video podcasts on the rise, our partnership with Spotify ensures we bring the full video versions of these top shows to Netflix and Spotify. From pop culture and lifestyle to true crime and sports, this curated selection of video podcasts adds fresh voices and new perspectives to Netflix, making our entertainment lineup more exciting than ever.”

“This partnership marks a new chapter for podcasting,” added Roman Wasenmüller, Spotify’s vice president and head of podcasts. “Together with Netflix, we’re expanding discovery, helping creators reach new audiences and giving fans around the world the chance to experience the stories they love and uncover favorites they never expected. This offers more choice to creators and unlocks a completely new distribution opportunity.”

While both companies have remained silent on whether the deal could eventually include music content, the partnership signals a growing crossover between streaming entertainment and audio platforms. For now, the collaboration reflects a shared goal: expanding how audiences discover and experience stories.
