Nelson Freitas to Represent Cape Verde at First Annual Bon Dimanche Festival in Boston.

Boston will host the first annual Bon Dimanche Festival on Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Yard, 100 Hood Park Drive, Charlestown, MA 02129.

The festival is designed to highlight the shared traditions of Haiti and Cape Verde, two nations with strong cultural roots and influence in music, dance, and cuisine. The event will feature art, food, DJs, and live performances with the goal of creating a space where both communities can celebrate together.

Headlining for Team Cape Verde is Nelson Freitas (🇨🇻), one of the artists representing Cape Verdean culture at the festival. Music will center on Kizomba and Kompa, genres deeply tied to Cape Verdean and Haitian traditions, offering attendees a day of nonstop dancing and live entertainment.

In addition to performances, attendees can expect Haitian and Cape Verdean food vendors, art displays, and opportunities to engage with local culture. The event is being positioned as both a showcase and a meeting point for two communities with deep ties in the Boston area.
