NBC and Peacock will feature Snoop Dogg as host of a two-hour New Year’s Eve special airing live from Miami on Dec. 31. Titled Snoop Dogg’s New Year’s Eve, the broadcast will run from 10:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. ET and continue the network’s recent efforts to compete in the New Year’s Eve programming space.
Snoop Dogg is already a regular presence on NBC platforms. He is a coach on The Voice and participated in NBC’s 2024 Summer Olympics coverage. The network hopes his profile and energy will help create a memorable event. “We’re thrilled to partner with Snoop and bring this epic event to audiences across the country,” said Jen Neal, NBCUniversal’s executive VP of Live Events and Specials.
NBC has previously tested different formats for New Year’s Eve. Miley Cyrus hosted music specials in 2022 and 2023, and last year, A Toast to 2024! aired from 9–11 p.m. but did not run opposite ABC’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. NBC also has a long history with the holiday, dating back to Guy Lombardo’s radio and TV broadcasts that began in the 1920s and introduced “Auld Lang Syne” as a tradition.
The special will be produced by Den of Thieves and Snoop Dogg’s Death Row Pictures. The production company recently signed a development deal with NBCUniversal as part of Snoop’s return to The Voice for another season.
NBC announced the special as part of its 2025 upfronts presentation alongside other programming news from NBCUniversal platforms.
