NBA YoungBoy Shares Concerning Update on Delayed Slime Cry Album

NBA YoungBoy first revealed plans for his new project back in October, signaling that fans would receive one more album before the end of 2025. Supporters were optimistic, especially after a year filled with singles, features, two full projects, and a nationwide solo tour. Despite all the activity, his audience consistently looks for new music, and Slime Cry quickly became one of the most anticipated releases of his recent run.

From October 16 to November 27, YoungBoy used social media to reassure fans that the project was still coming. While on his Make America Slime Again Tour, he announced that Slime Cry would arrive on Black Friday, November 28. When midnight passed with no album in sight, disappointment spread across X as fans expressed frustration. Some joked that they stayed awake or held off on eating Thanksgiving leftovers in hopes of pairing their meal with the album. The frustration grew further when YoungBoy’s camp offered no explanation for the delay.

A day later, YoungBoy addressed the situation directly on X, writing, “Oh you want my album I forgot, Loading….,,” in a calm and casual tone. The message suggested the album was still on the way, though it left listeners confused about the actual timeline. His latest update, however, has created even more uncertainty. In a new Instagram post shared only hours ago, he wrote, “Slime cry ‘I don’t think loading’ 😔,” signaling that the album may no longer be close to release.

Surprisingly, fans in the comment section did not respond with disappointment. Instead, many flooded the post with fire emojis, showing support for the video YoungBoy attached rather than dwelling on the album delay. Still, the update leaves the project’s future unclear and suggests that listeners may be waiting longer than expected.

Despite the setback, YoungBoy’s output in 2025 has remained strong. His Make America Slime Again album, released July 25, marked his return following a taxing prison period and generated conversation for its partial dedication to former U.S. president Donald Trump, who pardoned his federal charges earlier in the year. His follow-up release, DESHAWN, a joint tape hosted by DJ Khaled, arrived August 12 as a surprise for fans. Although the project did not perform strongly on the charts, it added another entry to a busy year of music.

With touring success and multiple releases behind him, YoungBoy has given his supporters plenty to revisit while waiting for clarity on Slime Cry. For now, the project remains in limbo, with no confirmed date in sight.
