Nas Thanked By Magic Johnson For ‘Magic 2’ Tribute: ‘You’re A Hell Of A Businessman’

After titling a song from his new album, Magic 2, after the legendary basketball player Magic Johnson, Nas has earned the admiration of others.

On Saturday, July 22, Magic declared Nasty Nas to be a “hell of a businessman” on Twitter before waxing lyrical about what a privilege it was to be acknowledged for his economic savvy.

The Lakes legend penned, “On Nas’s new album Magic 2, he dedicated track 7 to me called Earvin Magic Johnson!” “I appreciate you honoring and respecting my business savvy. You’re an incredibly successful businessperson on your own.

The Queensbridge lyricist honors the success of the baller-turned-businessman in the song “Earvin Magic Johnson.”

Rapper Andre Rison says, “On my Earvin Magic Johnson, I’m enterprising/ I keep it ghetto like the hood before they gentrified it/ I might burn this bitch down.”

Nas said on Twitter the same day that the inspiration for his prolific musical output over the previous few years came from above.

I adore making new music, so I’m thrilled to be doing that,” he remarked. “This year has been the best of my life. I’m glad to be spreading the Holy Spirit to the entire world after catching it. Magic 2.”

Magic 2 was released on Friday (July 21), marking Nas and Hit-Boy’s seventh joint effort since 2020.

Nas’s first-ever Grammy victory for Best Rap Album was made possible by the first album, King’s Disease, which was published in August 2020.
