Nas and DJ Premier will officially deliver their new collaborative album next month. Premier revealed the news during a show in Bristol, England on Wednesday (Nov. 19), where he performed alongside The Alchemist. While the project’s title remains under wraps, he confirmed that the album will arrive on Dec. 12.
“How many people are ready for that Nas-Premier album?” Premier asked the crowd before announcing the release date. He followed the moment by playing “Represent” from Nas’ Illmatic, highlighting their longstanding musical connection.
The album will serve as the final installment in Mass Appeal’s Legend Has It… rollout, which has included releases from Slick Rick, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Mobb Deep, Big L, and De La Soul’s Cabin In The Sky, arriving Friday (Nov. 21).
The announcement follows the pair’s release of “Define My Name” last April, which they confirmed was part of a larger album plan. Speaking to Rolling Stone in October, Nas shared his anticipation for the project, noting that it had been a long time in the making for both him and Premier.
Nas also explained that several creative concepts they developed throughout 2024 finally came together during the recording process. According to him, at least two ideas they had previously discussed but never executed made it onto the album this year.
The collaborative release marks a significant moment for fans who have followed their work since Illmatic, bringing their partnership into a new chapter.
