Metro Boomin responded to his unexpected presence in the newest movie Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, and the entire audience applauded for him.
The mega producer was finally allowed to watch the new animated picture in a crowded theater on Friday (June 2) after curating the soundtrack and appearing briefly in it.
Miles Morales is seen running away from a group of Spider-Men in the scenario in question, and Spidey Metro tells him: “There’s nowhere to run.” Morales then flies out the window, and after an awkward pause, Metro turns around and apologizes to everyone, saying, “My bad everybody, there was somewhere to run.”
The “Creepin'” producer can be seen in the audience laughing at his own joke as the crowd cheers and claps for him. Then he included a behind-the-scenes video of him writing his lines, to everyone’s amusement in the recording studio.
The most recent animated movie, which serves as the follow-up to 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, follows the tale of Miles Morales, a half-Black, half-Latino youngster who tries to serve his city as the renowned web-slinger.
Future, Lil Uzi Vert, J.I.D, Nas, Lil Wayne, A$AP Rocky, 21 Savage, Offset, 2 Chainz, Swae Lee, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Nav, Don Toliver, Coi Leray, Wizkid, James Blake, and others make appearances on the soundtrack, which Metro Boomin was originally chosen to produce back in December.
Everyone will be watching Boominati’s CEO to see if the initiative can live up to the anticipation created by its predecessor. The hit song “Sunflower” by Post Malone and Swae Lee, which was certified diamond in 2021 and crossed the record books as the joint-highest-certified single in RIAA history last November, was born from the initial Spider-Verse soundtrack.
On the Billboard 200, Heroes & Villains, Metro’s last release, started at No. 1 with 185,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. Taylor Swift’s Midnights was beaten out of the top place by Metro, which outsold the pop titan by more than 40,000 units.
In other news, Metro Boomin recently provided fans with an update on his much awaited collaborative album with Future, which has been the subject of considerable anticipation ever since it was first promised back in March.
