Elon Musk’s most recent disclosure of his payment system for content providers has convinced Meek Mill to recommit to Twitter.
The “Dreams & Nightmares” rapper used the popular social media platform on Friday (June 9) to quote-tweet Musk’s most recent statement and inform his followers that he might not be as active on other social media platforms.
According to Reuters, verified content creators will now be compensated by the network if they tweet advertisements. Musk warned that the author “must be verified” in order to receive the reward, although he has set aside $5 million for the initial round of payments.
It’s unclear if Meek Mill is a Twitter verified content provider.
For the Philadelphia native, this renewed commitment to the platform is a significant about-face.
The owner of Dream Chasers tweeted in December 2022 that he no longer wanted to be a part of the well-known social media site. Meek claims that Twitter has turned out to be too negative and is no longer a platform he wants to be active on.
He tweeted, “I’m deactivating Twitter permanently and switching to a new social where there are more positive vibes based on building, creating, and motivation.” “Whoever run my sh*t turn off this for good,” I’m going to take over my YouTube channel and replace my fan interaction there! There are too many weirdos and bots.
Clearly, the break wasn’t long-lasting.
The problems for Meek Mill didn’t stop there, though. On December 29, Meek revealed on his Instagram Stories that his phone had been stolen when he was traveling to Ghana. On his way to perform at the Afro Nation music festival, the Dream Chasers rapper shared many videos on his Instagram Stories showing himself out and about with Ghanaians. He was obviously enjoying himself, but then things took a turn for the worse.
“They stole my phone, sh*t, SMH,” I said.If you have it, bring that Jawn back,” he wrote.

Police in Ghana said a day later that they had detained suspect Nuhu Sule. They were able to find Meek’s phone, which had been stolen the day before, and hand deliver it to him.
In a video he uploaded to his Instagram Story showing his phone being returned, Meek can be heard stating, “I wanna say thank you guys for getting my phone back to my life, man.” “Commander, y’all didn’t let him hack me or nothing, did y’all?”
