Maye Star Performs “THANK GOD,” a Self-Directed Single Promoting Upcoming Project MayeDay.

Boston artist Maye Star is done waiting for the “perfect moment.” Over the weekend, he released a new single titled “THANK GOD”—a track he says was recorded in just 15 minutes—which also serves as a preview of his upcoming project, MayeDay. The release was paired with a simple video shot with longtime collaborator Black Greg, and a message about letting go of industry pressure and embracing creative spontaneity.

The song, produced by GIB DJ, was made at the newly opened Rise Studios Boston. In the post announcing the track, Maye explained that this one came easy. No rollout strategy, no timeline—just how he felt in the moment.

“At times, it comes easy to speak the truth and how you feel,” he wrote, adding that he’s spent years believing he needed a certain level of success or visibility before releasing music freely. “I’m enough,” he added, framing the drop as both a personal release and a public reset.

The drop fits into a bigger shift in tone. Over the last few weeks, Maye has been teasing a project titled MayeDay, though he hasn’t locked in a release date. In his latest post, he hinted at more to come over the next 30 days, writing simply: “No point in explaining. Just watch.”

“THANK GOD” is now available to stream, and the visual can be viewed on his YouTube channel. As for what’s next—Maye’s not spelling it out. But if his message is any sign, he’s already moving.
