In an interview with GoodTalk Show, legendary music executive and manager, Fee Banks discussed how he has worked with several major artists, including Lil Wayne, Kevin Gates, and YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
He discussed meeting Lil Wayne when they were teenagers and how they grew up together, eventually starting Young Money together. Banks talked about his approach to finding and developing talent, emphasizing the importance of an artist’s personality and work ethic alongside their musical ability.
He mentioned his experiences in the music industry, including learning from mistakes, the importance of understanding the business side and more.
Banks further mentioned his involvement in other ventures, including construction and real estate, particularly after Hurricane Katrina. Banks spoke about being currently focused on both artist management and running his label, Good Money Global, which has a distribution deal with Alamo Records.
He expressed interest in potentially writing a book about his experiences in the music industry, and also indicated his plans to continue working in the music industry for as long as he feels passionate about it, rather than setting a specific retirement age.
