Lynae Vanee on Letting Go, Leaning on Faith, and Landing Her Revolt Show.

On a recent episode of Lip Service, multi-hyphenate creator Lynae Vanee opened up about her powerful journey of surrender, self-reflection, and ultimately securing her own show with Revolt TV—a dream that came to life at the intersection of faith and timing.

“It was a conversation between me and the Lord,” Lynae told hosts Angela Yee and crew when asked how her Revolt deal came together. After going through a breakup and losing key people in her life—including her longtime assistant and several friends—she realized it was time to reset and let go.

“I was trying to force things to be stable,” she explained, referencing her business, nonprofit, and other creative ventures. “I said, ‘Lord, you’ve always taken care of me, so I’m just going to sit here and be still.’”

Though the season was filled with isolation and transition—including moving into a new home after living with her ex—Lynae leaned into her faith. She chose to be obedient rather than operate from fear or control. And just two weeks after making that spiritual decision, she got the call.

“Revolt wants to give you a show,” she recalled hearing. “And I hadn’t even spoken to them about anything in over a year and a half!”

While some might call it luck, Lynae credits divine alignment. She shared that her name had been circulating since she first began creating in 2020. She had long spoken her success into existence—literally putting in her bio: ‘Stop playing, somebody get this girl a show.’

Despite pitching multiple concepts—scripted and unscripted shows, book ideas—she often heard variations of “It’s not the right time” or “This feels too smart for the market.” But Revolt came through exactly when and how she needed.

“The team at Revolt is amazing,” she said. “They’re protective of me, and they want to be as loud as I want to be.”

The moment marks a major win not just for Lynae, but for women in media who often struggle to get platforms that reflect both their intellect and creativity.
