Ludacris and Gucci Mane Leaves Curren$y Speechless At Essence Fest!

Ludacris & Gucci Mane Left Curren$Y Star-Struck At Essence Fest: 'sweet F-Ckin Night'

Curren$y was definitely taken aback when he met Ludacris and Gucci Mane after seeing them perform at Essence Fest over the weekend.

Spitta had interrupted Jermaine Dupri’s performance to perform a few songs with his For Motivational Use Onlycollaborator. The New Orleans rapper briefly discussed his encounter with Luda and the 1017 leader backstage and claimed the encounter left him feeling like a star.

“I was backstage at Essence just ready to do my lil verse for JD and get out of all the superstars way but errbody was like Spitta what up!!!” Curren$y tweeted something. And crap like that. Stupid Gucci That’s my dog Curren$y right there, Mane said. And I respond, “No way, man, sweet fuckin night.”

“Ludacris too, I never met him before, no got damn Ludacris, and he was like what’s up N-gga and chill as fuck, I can’t believe bruh knew who I was,” he continued. When I got home, I thought, “Fuck man.” Should I go tonight after the parties? You should wear sunglasses in the club. However, I relaxed.

Although the Essence Festival this weekend was full of noteworthy events, Juvenile’s performance on Friday, June 30, undoubtedly stole the show. The Hot Boy “Set It Off” on Friday (June 30) with a set that started at around 10:30 p.m. ET, despite the organizers initially ignoring the Nolia legend from their “The South Got Something To Say” set.

The moment he started singing “Back That Azz Up,” off Juvie’s third album 400 Degreez, which features Mannie Fresh and Lil Wayne, the crowd erupted.

Following a G.O.A.T.-worthy performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk concert series, where he and Mannie Fresh brought some New Orleans bounce by performing a handful of their best hits, they gave a performance at Essence Fest.

Regarding Curren$y, he recently released Vices, a tape he worked on with Harry Fraud. It was released on Friday, June 30, and it includes cameos from Jim Jones, Rome Streetz, Larry June, Benny The Butcher, and other artists.

Vices is the eighth project Curren$y and Harry Fraud have worked on together. In the past, the pair has put out two studio albums, four EPs, and one mixtape.
