Although Ludacris has recently been concentrating on TV and movies, his new freestyle over Armani White’s “Billie Eilish” rhythm demonstrates that he hasn’t lost any ground.
Tuesday (November 22) saw Luda upload a clip to his Instagram, along with a comment explaining that the verse was only a “friendly reminder” and that an official remix was on the way.
“Pilot, yeah pilot of my own plane/ Million dollar talk every time the phone ring,” he spits as he kicks the freestyle off. “Luda never put in work in the dope game/ But I did to rap what Escobar did to cocaine!”
Later in the verse, he notes the many successful endeavors he’s had in his 20+ year career: “It’s the MVP – jersey in the rafters/ Baller, author, rapper, actor/ Creator, producer. Career? Timeless./ Extra credit, did I mention to you hoes? Bitch I’m STYLISH!”
Although Luda’s previous studio album, Ludaversal, was released more than seven years ago, the multihyphenate hasn’t been sitting on his laurels. It’s reasonable to say that the 45-year-old has kept busy between films (including the box office juggernaut Fast & Furious franchise), a new toy line, his Netflix children’s show Karma’s World, and graduating college, among other things.
Ludacris will receive a star of his own on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2023. The founder of Disturbing Tha Peace is one of nine musicians on the list, along with artists like Charlie Wilson, Lenny Kravitz, and Sheila E, even though he is listed in the category of film pictures.
Along with Martin Lawrence, Uma Thurman, Vince Vaughn, and a few others, Paul Walker, who starred alongside Luda in the Fast & Furious movies, will also be honored with a star.
“Hey Momma, Your Son Is Being Selected To Receive a STAR on the Hollywood Walk of Fame In 2023,” Luda wrote on Instagram while celebrating the news back in June. “GOD IS THE GREATEST.”
Ludacris discussed the Fast & Furious franchise’s future and whether it will get any additional spin-offs like 2019’s Hobbs & Shaw earlier this summer.
“It all depends,” Luda said to E! News. “If they’re done right, that’s the key to it.” This franchise is the only one that is based off of human beings that is within that Top 10 grossing movies of all time because everything else is superheroes and things of that nature.”
The movie Fast X is set to hit theaters in 2019.
