For his latest single, “Wake Up,” Logic enlists frequent collaborator Lucy Rose in advance of the release of his first independent album, College Park.
Logic and Rose have now worked together four times, having previously done so on the songs “Innermission” from 2015, “Anziety” from 2017, and “Thank You” from 2018.
In “Wake Up,” the lead single from his upcoming album College Park, Logic ponders on the course of his life.
“Took another route; no, I never ended up in cuffs/Had a gat in my hand, but I didn’t wanna be that man/Look in the mirror, couldn’t see that man/Pick up the pen, never stick up to men/Only pick up the stick if I need to defend,” he raps.
