Lil Wop, An Ex-Gucci Mane Artist, Disclaims That He Is Becoming A Woman

Lil Wop, the former artist for Gucci Mane, has bravely chosen to speak out and live his truth.

The “Lost My Mind” rapper announced on his Instagram page on Thursday (May 18) that he hasn’t taken the decision to transition from a guy to a woman lightly.

In the Instagram description, he stated, “In The Transition Into Becoming A Full Transgender,” while presenting a different appearance from the one his followers were accustomed to before this post.

Lil Wop has not yet declared a name change or a change in his preferred pronouns as of the time of this writing.

Lil Wop is not the first rapper to come out as trans, but he has long been teasing that he is not a cis-hetero guy.

The Chicago rapper, who had previously been signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Eskimos label, came out as bisexual back in 2022. On February 13, the author of the “Like a Savage” lyrics announced it on his Instagram.

I am bisexual. I Enjoy Guys and Girls Wop posted a picture of himself wearing pigtails and baring his midriff on Instagram with the caption, “It’s W.E.

The rapper’s most recent release was the featureless, gothic and rock-influenced mixtape Say Cheese from 2021. Wop stated that he views himself more as a rockstar than a rapper in a 2017 interview with The Fader.

“I mean, my music is rock,” Wop stated to the publication. You can lose your mind or become insane due to it. Hard rock, not gentle rock & roll, is being banged out in this music. I developed my own style and shit. Lil Wop is performing what you see.

Wop has been working on new music even though he hasn’t given many interviews lately. His most recent singles, “Glo” and “Woke Up,” both of which he stated were self-produced, were just released. The rapper also asked his followers on Instagram if they were ready for new music, a hint that more was on the way, and announced the name of his upcoming album: Till Your Blocked.

Fans enthusiastically flooded the comments with bat emojis in response to his caption, “Mortal Combat Finish Em. Comment [bat emoji] If Your Ready For New Music,” which he posted alongside an Instagram selfie while wearing a mask.
