Lil Wayne’s Young Money Sports Signs Heisman Winner Travis Hunter.

Lil Wayne’s Young Money Sports agency is making major moves by signing Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter for his NFL representation. Hunter, who recently wrapped up his college football career at the Alamo Bowl, is currently projected to be a top-five pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. This makes him the highest-profile athlete to join Young Money APAA Sports, which manages talent across the NFL, NBA, soccer, and college sports.

In addition to Hunter, the agency also represents Duke quarterback Darian Mensah, who recently secured a two-year, $8 million NIL deal after transferring from Tulane, and Jehiem Oatis. Young Money Sports reportedly outbid other major sports agencies, including WME, CAA, Klutch Sports Group, and Athletes First, to sign Hunter.

During his Heisman Trophy acceptance speech, Hunter gave a heartfelt tribute to Lil Wayne, admitting he became a fan through his fiancée. “She told me, ‘You’ve got to listen to this. If you don’t listen to any music, listen to Wayne,’” Hunter shared. He credited Lil Wayne’s music as a source of motivation, adding, “Pregame music, those are the songs I listen to.” Hunter even performed an impression of Lil Wayne by rapping part of “6 Foot 7 Foot” during the ceremony.

While Young Money Sports will handle Hunter’s on-field representation, SMAC Entertainment will manage his off-field ventures. SMAC has already helped Hunter secure major NIL deals during his college career at Colorado, including a partnership with Adidas that is expected to continue into his professional career.

This signing highlights Young Money Sports’ growing influence in the sports world, as the agency continues to attract top-tier talent and expand its reach.
