Lil Uzi Vert Cut Charleston White A ‘Nice Lil’ Check’ For ‘Pink Tape’ Sample

Last week saw the debut of Lil Uzi Vert’s brand-new album Pink Tape, and according to Charleston White, the Philadelphia rapper paid him a significant sum of money to be sampled on one of the songs.

The contentious YouTuber’s voice can be heard in the beginning of “Suicide Doors,” as he criticizes the rapper for wearing nail polish and asserts that he has “never heard” an Uzi Vert song that stands out to him in a Say Cheese interview.

In the video, White claimed, “My right hand to God, I ain’t never heard an Uzi Vert song that I can say, “That’s Uzi Vert.” But I’m aware that he’s a sissified-appearing n-gga who wears clothes and paints his muthafuckin’ nails. How do you intend to proceed, n-gga?

Although White came out and admitted that the Eternal Atake lyricist had paid him a substantial sum of money to have the diss included on their new album, the remarks were intended as a jab at Vert.

When asked how he felt about the sample, White replied, “I’m happier then a bitch,” in an interview with Mix One Essentials. But no, they got in touch with me on Thursday night before he did that because they needed my consent just like when they sampled a song. So they gave me a beautiful little check and I had a lawyer negotiate the royalties, but I will continue to receive checks for publishing in the future for whatever reason. My group was truly blessed by him.

Despite the fact that Uzi’s lengthy 26-track record is probably still being worked through by fans, the rapper recently informed them that they would “drop a whole ‘nother album” as opposed to a deluxe edition of their most recent LP.

On Tuesday, July 4, Lil Uzi Vert posted a picture of the album’s cover on their Instagram Story along with the caption, “Get this 2 number one and I will drop the album y’all really looking for.”

Uzi went a step further and added “Luv is rage 3” to their bio, possibly giving yet another hint as to what the Philadelphia rapper will be releasing next.

According to preliminary estimates, Uzi’s Pink Tape will sell between 220,000 and 250,000 equivalent album units in its first week, which will be sufficient to guarantee a No. 1 debut on the list. This indicates that it will likely top the Billboard 200 this year, becoming the first Hip Hop album to do so.

The follow-up to Lil Uzi Vert’s first studio album, Luv is Rage 2, which was released in August of 2012, will be titled Luv is Rage 3. The album received a 135,000 album-equivalent unit debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and later received a 2x platinum certification from the RIAA.

Three years later, in 2020, they released Eternal Atake as a follow-up.
