Lil Durk has announced the release date for his upcoming album, Deep Thoughts. The Chicago rapper shared the news on March 17 through a short video on social media. In the clip, he speaks with his engineers and producers over a prison phone, expressing excitement about the project.
“I like the energy and what y’all are putting together. Even the list of songs y’all sent me is good, so I know y’all putting better changes on that, so I know it’s going to be bigger and better,” Durk says in the call. The trailer ends with a black screen displaying the album title and release date: Deep Thoughts arrives on March 28.
The album was originally planned for release in 2024 but faced multiple delays. It was first set for October 18 before being postponed to November 22. Now, with his legal situation ongoing, Durk appears ready to move forward with the project. Expected tracks include “Turn Up A Notch,” “Late Checkout” featuring Hunxho, “Monitoring Me,” and “Opportunist.”
Durk’s legal case has been a significant factor in the album’s delay. He was initially set to appear in court on January 7, but the date has been moved to October 14. He faces serious charges related to an alleged murder-for-hire scheme targeting a relative of rapper Quando Rondo. Authorities claim the incident was retaliation for the death of King Von, a close friend of Durk.
