Leon Thomas is dominating the R&B field at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, following his first win this year for SZA’s “Snooze.” His Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit Mutt, along with the Live From NPR’s Tiny Desk version, is up for best R&B performance. Thomas’ parent album Mutt is nominated for best R&B album, while tracks “Vibes Don’t Lie” and “Yes It Is” are up for best traditional R&B performance and best R&B song, respectively.
Durand Bernarr earned three R&B nominations—best traditional R&B performance (“Here We Are”), best R&B song (“Overqualified”), and best progressive R&B album (Bloom)—after his first nod last year. Kehlani also scored two nominations for best R&B performance and best R&B song with “Folded,” marking their first Hot 100 top 10 and first R&B nods in nearly a decade.
Other notable nominees include Ledisi for best traditional R&B performance (“Love You Too”) and album (The Crown), Chris Brown and Bryson Tiller for “It Depends,” and Summer Walker’s lead single “Heart of a Woman” for best R&B performance and song. Teyana Taylor, Coco Jones, Bilal, Justin Bieber, Giveon, and FLO also join the R&B field with nominations across album, song, and performance categories.
Some omissions surprised fans, including The Weeknd, Ravyn Lenae, Drake, PartyNextDoor, and Mariah the Scientist, whose hits did not receive nominations.
The 2026 Grammy Awards will air Sunday, Feb. 1, from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on CBS and Paramount+ Premium at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
