Legacy Thornton Unveils “WORKIN” Music Video After Juneteenth Festival.

Boston-based poet-singer Legacy Thornton has released the official music video for “WORKIN,” the track the multidisciplinary artist issued earlier this month. The visual went live on June 25 and is now streaming on YouTube.

Legacy first screened the clip during Boston’s Trifecta Juneteenth Festival, then announced the public drop in an Instagram post that included a one-minute preview. “The long-awaited drop is here,” the caption reads, before thanking collaborators and early viewers and crediting videography collective Soulcialta, creative studio Ixistential, bookstore-gallery JustBook-ish, and Boston poet laureate Porsha Olayiwola for providing locations and support.

The artist also acknowledged Tampa rapper Doechii as the project’s inspiration, writing, “The reason this even exists! You are such an inspiration and we are all rooting for your highest good.”

“WORKIN” was issued to DSPs in the lead-up to Juneteenth; the newly released video pairs Thornton’s self-produced hip-hop/R&B hybrid track with performance footage, studio shots and festival-day inserts recorded around Boston.

The video and single are available now on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music and additional services.
