Latto Announces New Album “Sugar Honey Iced Tea” With Star-Studded ATL-Inspired Trailer.

Latto has announced her third album, “Sugar Honey Iced Tea,” with a video trailer featuring cameos from 2 Chainz and T.I. The cinematic trailer, inspired by the 2006 cult movie “ATL” (starring T.I.), teases a collaboration with SZA, as her vocals can be briefly heard.

Narrated by Dungeon Family member Big Rube, who also voiced parts in “ATL,” the trailer ends by revealing the album’s release date: August 9. T.I.’s “24’s” is featured in the trailer, suggesting Latto will sample the 2003 classic in her new album. She recently previewed an unreleased song that samples the DJ Toomp beat, adding a female twist to the song’s hook.

Although details like the tracklist are yet to be revealed, Latto shared insights about “Sugar Honey Iced Tea” in a recent Billboard cover story. She cited aesthetic inspirations from Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, and Lil Kim, and musical influences from Kelis, all with a Southern Hip Hop twist. She described these artists as embodying both feminine energy and masculine confidence.

Latto emphasized her intent to establish herself in the music industry for the long term, expressing pride in her current work and confidence in the upcoming project. She stated that she’s not chasing achievements but focusing on her artistic vision, even telling her label to step back while she works on the album.

Latto also denied that the album title is a dig at Ice Spice, despite their ongoing subliminal jabs. She explained that the title reflects a Southern expression rather than a response to their feud.

“Sugar Honey Iced Tea” will follow Latto’s 2022 album “777,” which peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 and included the triple platinum hit “Big Energy.” The new album features singles like “Big Mama,” “Sunday Service,” and “Put It On Da Floor,” the latter of which has a remix featuring Cardi B.
