Boston Calling 2025 brought tens of thousands to Harvard Athletic Complex over Memorial Day weekend (May 23–25) for its signature mix of music, art, food, and festival energy. With more than 50 artists performing across multiple stages, a 100-foot Ferris wheel, and dozens of local food vendors and installations, the three-day event once again spotlighted the city’s growing presence on the national music map.
Among the local voices represented this year was Boston’s own Latrell James, who used his set as a moment to connect with both the city and his circle. In a post shared to Instagram after the show, the rapper wrote, “@bostoncalling was a cool experience. Family and friends being present made it even more special. Met some new friends too, thank you.”
James’ post, paired with a video recap from Colin Pagnoni, offered a brief but meaningful look at his time on stage and behind the scenes. He closed the message with a nod to his collaborators—“Love to my bandmates”—and teased the possibility of upcoming material, writing simply: “New music?”
As much a cultural weekend as a music festival, Boston Calling’s 2025 edition leaned into the city’s identity, drawing both longtime residents and out-of-town visitors to celebrate a broad spectrum of sound and expression.
For those who couldn’t make it, performances, recaps, and visuals from the weekend continue to circulate across social platforms, capturing the scale and personal moments that shaped the festival.
