La’Daska Mechell, an African American fashion designer and entrepreneur, has launched her new book The Fashion Disciple: A Young Innovator’s Guide to Entrepreneurship. As the founder of The LM Factory, one of the few Black woman-owned apparel manufacturing companies in the U.S., La’Daska has grown her business to $100K in revenue in its first year by helping emerging fashion brands succeed. Her new book offers a practical guide for aspiring fashion entrepreneurs to build and scale their own brands.
The Fashion Disciple covers key topics such as launching a fashion business with minimal capital, mastering distribution channels, defining a brand’s identity, and innovating for the future in a competitive marketplace. La’Daska draws from her extensive experience to empower young entrepreneurs with actionable strategies and insider knowledge.
“I wrote the book I wish I had when I started out,” La’Daska said. “It’s for young entrepreneurs who have brilliant ideas but don’t know where to begin.”
In addition to her for-profit work, La’Daska also runs a nonprofit organization focused on education, workforce development, and entrepreneurship for future leaders.
