Kuttah Brings Bars and Energy to The Franchise Report Interview.

Rising artist Kuttah pulled up to The Franchise Report and gave a raw, no-frills conversation that offered insight into his come-up, artistic range, and future plans.

Kuttah shared that he’s been rapping since the age of five, crediting music as a natural outlet rather than something sparked by a specific artist or moment. While his mother used to play Beethoven for him in the womb, he said his creative journey wasn’t inspired by any one figure. Still, he acknowledged listening to Lil Wayne as a kid and gravitating toward older music and drill—particularly during high school when artists like Pop Smoke were emerging.

Though hip-hop is his foundation, Kuttah emphasized that he doesn’t limit himself musically—he sings, raps, and embraces different genres. When asked what sets him apart, he simply said: “Authenticity” and the ability to craft a full song, especially hooks—something he feels is lacking in today’s rap game.

Kuttah recently dropped his new EP “Face of the P”, a six-track solo project released just four weeks prior. While it’s getting love in Boston, it’s really buzzing in Providence, where he’s from—Chad Brown, to be specific.

When it comes to performing, he brings serious energy. Kuttah recently won the “Hottest in the City” competition at Culture, and he’s set to open for G Herbo at Big Night Live on May 2.

On the visuals side, Kuttah says he’s intentional about building his image and loves being on camera. He’s active on Instagram, frequently posting music, engaging with fans, and “speaking life.” He’s not big on going live due to timing and setting limitations but remains a consistent presence online.

Though he hasn’t found many local artists he’s itching to work with in Providence, he named Last Days and Samba as Boston-based artists he respects, along with producer DVO.

When challenged to give his top five rappers excluding Biggie, Pac, DMX, Big L, and Big Pun, Kuttah went with:

  • EST Gee
  • Westside Gunn
  • BSF (specifically Benny the Butcher)
  • Leaf Ward
  • Baby Money

Throughout the interview, Kuttah’s confidence was undeniable. He made it clear that he’s not only grinding, but that he’s already arrived—the rest of the world just needs to catch up.
