Fans of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony have a surprise in store from Krayzie Bone, who also promised that he’s working to get the band a Tiny Desk performance.
The Cleveland rapper reacted to a fan who asked when he and the other members of the “1st of tha Month” hitmakers will be appearing on the well-known NPR concert series on Twitter on Wednesday (July 5).
Krayzie Bone said, “I’m working on that,” offering optimism to the band’s followers.
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony will be following in the footsteps of some other legendary Hip Hop artists, such as Trina, Rakim, and — most recently — Juvenile, whose performance with Mannie Fresh last month brought some New Orleans bounce to NPR’s Tiny Desk. Should everything work out and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony do successfully secure a Tiny Desk booking.
The former Cash Money team opened with the 400 Degreez album opening from Juvie’s second Cash Money Records album, released in 1998. They then played a few other songs from the multi-platinum album, including the album’s title track and number-one single “Ha.” Following that, they performed “I Need a Hot Girl,” “Slow Motion,” “Rodeo,” and “Set It Off.”
The duo then wrapped things off with raucous performances of “Project Bitch” and “Back That Azz Up,” which served as the first encore in Tiny Desk history and featured a surprise visit from John Batiste.
In regards to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, they recently acknowledged that they would be open to a reunion if Dr. Dre agrees.
In an episode that was released on Wednesday (July 5) of The Digital Soapbox Network, Layzie Bone was a guest and talked about how the group never got on a Dre beat.
