Kool Keith & Marc Live Reunite With Ice-T To Create “The Formula”

ICE-T REUNITES WITH KOOL KEITH & MARC LIVE TO CREATE ‘THE FORMULA’

Ice-T has reconnected with Kool Keith and Marc Live, his Analog Brothers, for a brand-new cut from Keith’s upcoming Black Elvis 2 album.

On “The Formula,” the group performs over a beat that was also created by Marc Live. Ice-T reminds listeners why he’s the final level as he delivers the last stanza, delivering the lyricism in true OG style.

The follow-up to Kool Keith’s 1999 cult hit Black Elvis, titled Black Elvis 2, will be released on June 16 via Mello Music Group.

According to the description, Black Elvis 2 is “equal parts street and space.” Along with the launch of the album, the first track from the project, “Black Elvis 2″ (Intro),” which was produced by L’Orange, was made available in April.

A new album from Ice-T is also about to be released, and he intends to unseat Slick Rick as the “king of stories” with it.

The seasoned rapper and actor said in an interview with AllHipHop in March, “I got a rap project coming out and it’s called – first, I’ve never commented on it yet – it’s called, The Legend of Ice-T ‘Crime Stories’ Vol 1 & 2.

“It’s a compilation of every tale rhyme I’ve ever written from all eight of my albums, plus roughly six brand-new songs that are all based on stories. They claim that Slick The king of storytelling is Rick. I intend to take that throne. Hold on until you hear this.

These are all of my narrative records from ‘6 ‘N the Mornin’ to ‘Midnight,’ and all these adventures have been compiled into one CD, he continued. It will be like a vintage collector’s item and is a double vinyl release with two vinyls. Many of the things that people think are legends about me, which is why the album is called The Legend of Ice-T.

Both legendary Hip Hop artists have recently received their roses. Ice-T received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce in February. Slick Rick received a 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards in the same month.

The Ruler said of his award: “To be receiving this honor is incredible.” And it is humbling to be in such great company as my fellow honorees. God is merciful. Every time!”

His mastery of narrative has influenced rappers of several eras, and superstars like Nicki Minaj and Pharrell have recently praised him.
