Kodak Black is teaming up with music discovery platform Audius to launch his own artist coin, $YAK, coinciding with his annual Kodak Day celebration in Pompano Beach, Florida.
The $YAK coin gives fans access to unreleased tracks, stems, and behind-the-scenes content directly from Kodak. One unreleased $YAK-gated song is already live on Audius, marking the first of many exclusive drops for his supporters.
“Kodak Black is beloved by legions of fans as a true innovator in hip-hop,” said Audius cofounder and CEO Roneil Rumburg. “He’s creating a new way to connect with his audience, rewarding loyalty and deepening engagement through ownership.”
Ryan “Killshot” Prieur, Kodak’s longtime manager, added, “The future of music is ownership, and $YAK puts that power in the fans’ hands.” Kodak himself simply stated, “You already know – YAK.”
Kodak Day begins at 11 a.m. at the Golden Acres housing projects where the rapper grew up, running until 6 p.m. with community giveaways including groceries, food, and games for local kids.
The event follows the October release of Kodak’s latest mixtape Just Getting Started, featuring Don Toliver, Lil Yachty, Gunna, and Chance The Rapper. Earlier this year, he teamed with former NFL player Antonio Brown for “I LUV ALL THE OPPS.”
