Kid Cudi’s new single “Neverland” brings a fresh sound, featuring acoustic guitar and rock influences in one of his most experimental songs since Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven. The track opens with a soft, alternative-rock guitar before building into a soaring chorus, where Cudi sings about escaping to “Neverland” with lyrics like: “We’ll never die, you and I.”
On Instagram, Cudi expressed deep emotion for the release, calling it a heartfelt gift to fans and confirming his upcoming album is titled Free. He wrote: “I really put my heart and soul into this jam… Bringing u joy w each listen… the name of the album is simply titled FREE. Get ready, taking u to new places my friends.”
In a March interview, he explained the album’s new direction challenged him to grow vocally and creatively. Rather than building on pre-made beats, Cudi crafted songs from scratch in-studio, which he said reignited his passion and sense of fulfillment as an artist.
