Kendrick Lamar’s GNX has returned to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for a third non-consecutive week. The album, released in November, earned 90,500 equivalent album units this week, according to Luminate. Results arrived later than usual, likely due to a tight race among the top three albums.
Drake and PartyNextDoor’s $ome $exy $ongs 4 U followed closely at No. 2 with 90,000 units, while Tate McRae’s So Close To What placed third with 87,000 units. Drake and PartyNextDoor previously reached No. 1 in February, marking Drake’s 14th chart-topper and PartyNextDoor’s first. McRae’s album had earlier replaced GNX at No. 1 with the year’s biggest debut for a female artist.
Lamar’s GNX continues to perform well on streaming platforms, with 103 million streams this week. Of its total, 16,500 came from physical and digital sales. Lamar also dominates the Billboard Hot 100, where his song “Luther” with SZA is No. 1. “Not Like Us” and “TV Off” follow at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.
The only debut in the Top 10 came from Blackpink’s Lisa. Her first full-length album, Alter Ego, entered at No. 7 with 45,500 units. It was the week’s best-selling album with 28,000 in sales, though it drew a more modest 23 million streams. The album features guest appearances by Future, Megan Thee Stallion, Tyla, Rosalía, Raye, and Doja Cat. Lisa also recently performed with Raye and Doja Cat at the Oscars in a tribute to James Bond film music.
