Now that Coachella 2025 has ended, attention is turning toward the next major event in the music industry: the American Music Awards. This year’s ceremony is scheduled for May 26 and will air live at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+. Jennifer Lopez will serve as host.
The nominations were officially announced today, and Kendrick Lamar received the most with ten total. His nominations include Artist Of The Year, Album Of The Year for GNX, and Song Of The Year for “Not Like Us.” He is also recognized for his collaboration with SZA on “Luther,” which earned nods for both Collaboration Of The Year and Favorite Hip-Hop Song. Additional nominations include Favorite Music Video for “Not Like Us,” as well as several honors in hip-hop categories, including Favorite Male Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Hip-Hop Album (GNX).
Post Malone follows with eight nominations. Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, and Shaboozey each received seven nominations. This year’s AMA nominations cover a wide range of genres, including pop, hip-hop, country, R&B, Latin, rock, Afrobeats, and K-pop.
The Artist Of The Year category includes Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift, SZA, Post Malone, and others. The New Artist Of The Year category highlights performers such as Chappell Roan, Benson Boone, and Shaboozey. Album Of The Year nominees include projects from Beyoncé, Billie Eilish, Future and Metro Boomin, and Taylor Swift.
Several artists are recognized across multiple genres. For example, Post Malone is nominated in both pop and country categories, including Favorite Male Country Artist and Favorite Country Song for his collaboration with Morgan Wallen on “I Had Some Help.”
This year’s awards also include newer categories like Social Song Of The Year, with nominees such as Chappell Roan and Tommy Richman. Touring artists such as Taylor Swift, Zach Bryan, and Billie Eilish are also up for recognition.
