Kendrick Lamar officially claims the biggest song of 2025 so far with his SZA collaboration “Luther.” The track, which spent 13 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, has sold 3.9 million copies this year, according to Luminate.
Lamar also dominates the year’s top five singles. “Not Like Us” and “TV Off” rank third and fourth, while Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga’s “Die With a Smile” and Morgan Wallen’s “I’m the Problem” round out the list. Both Kendrick and SZA are currently on a world tour together and also hold the second and third best-selling albums of 2025. SZA’s SOS deluxe edition has moved over 1.711 million units, while Lamar’s GNX follows closely with just over 1.7 million. Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem leads album sales so far with more than 2.5 million units.
Alongside the sales success, Lamar earned four Emmy nominations this week for his Super Bowl halftime performance earlier this year. His show is nominated for Outstanding Variety Special (Live), Directing, Music Direction, and Choreography.
The halftime set featured appearances from Samuel L. Jackson, Serena Williams, and Mustard. Jackson, who narrated parts of the performance as a version of Uncle Sam, described the experience on Paloma Faith’s Mad Sad Bad podcast as “revolutionary.”
Lamar previously won an Emmy for performing at the 2022 Super Bowl alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent, and Mary J. Blige.
