Kendrick Lamar Doubles Down on Drake Diss with “6:16 in LA”.

Drake remains silent after Kendrick Lamar’s first diss track, “euphoria,” but Kendrick isn’t waiting for a response. He’s released a new song, “6:16 in LA,” specifically targeting Drake and his entourage.

This move fulfills a promise Kendrick made in “euphoria,” where he rapped about revisiting a diss style similar to Drake’s “Back to Back” (aimed at Meek Mill). “6:16 in LA” arrives just three days after “euphoria.”

In the new track, Kendrick accuses members of Drake’s inner circle of disloyalty. He claims that Drake’s team wants him to fail, with lines like, “Have you ever thought that OVO is working for me,” “Everyone inside your team is whispering that you deserve it,” “If you was street smart, you woulda caught your entourage is only to hussle you,” “100 guys that you got on salary, and 20 of them want you as the casualty,” and “It’s time you look around and see who’s really around you.” The song’s title itself is a jab at Drake. Drake has a history of using timestamps and locations for song titles (e.g., “9AM in Dallas”).

Kendrick released “6:16 in LA” with an image of a glove featuring the Maybach logo. This could be interpreted as a declaration of war (“gloves are off”) and another potential Michael Jackson reference (following Kendrick’s previous line about Prince outliving Michael).

Kendrick keeps swinging, now we wait and see how Drake will respond.
