Lamar’s “Not Like Us” Dominates, Beyoncé Claims First Album of the Year Win

Kendrick Lamar and Beyoncé made significant strides at the 2025 Grammy Awards, securing groundbreaking wins. Kendrick’s diss track “Not Like Us” triumphed across all five nominations, while Beyoncé finally clinched the long-awaited Album of the Year award for Cowboy Carter.

Lamar’s “Not Like Us” swept the following categories:

  • Record of the Year
  • Song of the Year
  • Best Rap Song
  • Best Rap Performance
  • Best Music Video

It made history as the first-ever diss track to win a Grammy, and Lamar became only the second rapper to win both Record of the Year and Song of the Year, following Childish Gambino in 2019.

Beyoncé won the highly coveted Album of the Year for Cowboy Carter, marking the first time a Black woman has won the award since Lauryn Hill in 1999. Additionally, Beyoncé claimed:

  • Best Country Album
  • Best Country Duo/Group Performance (with Miley Cyrus for “II Most Wanted”)

She now holds 35 Grammys, making her the most awarded artist in Grammy history.
