Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “luther” Named a Top 5 Summer Song by Billboard After Record-Breaking Hot 100 Run.

Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “luther” has continued its dominant run in 2025, breaking Billboard chart records and adding to Lamar’s standout year. The track, a pop-rap and R&B crossover, held the No. 1 spot on the Hot 100 for 13 consecutive weeks, setting a new record for hip-hop songs. It also became the first male-female duet to stay at the top for 11 or more weeks.

Billboard ranked “luther” as the No. 5 song of the summer, placing behind Alex Warren’s “Ordinary,” Morgan Wallen and Tate McRae’s “What I Want,” and two more Wallen tracks, “Just In Case” and “I’m The Problem.” Rounding out the top 10 were hits from Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars, HUNTR/X with collaborators, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Ravyn Lenae. Billboard noted the list is based on Hot 100 performance between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

For Lamar, “luther” adds to a year that already includes multiple Grammy wins for “Not Like Us,” a Super Bowl performance, and surpassing 50 billion Spotify streams. He will continue his Grand National tour this month, beginning with Mexico City on September 23, followed by shows in South America, Mexico, and Australia in December.
