Kendrick and SZA’s “Luther” Ends 13-Week Run As Morgan Wallen Takes Over Hot 100 With New Album.

In late February, Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s song “Luther” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart dated March 1. The song held the top spot for 13 weeks. However, on the Hot 100 chart dated May 31, “Luther” dropped significantly from No. 1.

The change comes mainly because of Morgan Wallen. His album I’m The Problem has been very successful and made a strong impact on the Hot 100 chart. Tate McRae’s collaboration with Wallen, “What I Want,” debuted at No. 1, marking McRae’s first No. 1 song. Wallen’s songs “Just In Case” and “I’m The Problem” followed at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” took No. 4, with Lamar and SZA’s “Luther” falling to No. 5.

Tate McRae became the seventh Canadian woman to reach No. 1 on the Hot 100. She joins Celine Dion, Nelly Furtado, Carly Rae Jepsen, Avril Lavigne, Alannah Myles, and Anne Murray.

Morgan Wallen is the first country artist to hold the top three spots on the Hot 100 at the same time. He is also the sixth artist ever to do this, following The Beatles, Taylor Swift, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and Ariana Grande. Wallen has 37 songs on this week’s chart, which is the highest number ever by an artist.
