Kanye West. The Weeknd. And Drake Are Spotify's Most Streamed Artists Of 2022

The Weeknd, Drake, and Kanye West are just a few of the big names who made Spotify’s list of the top American artists streamed in 2022.

Drake takes the top spot, followed by Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, Ye, and The Weeknd. The 6 God tops the list of most-streamed male musicians in the nation, followed by Bad Bunny, Kanye West, The Weeknd, and the late Juice WRLD.

Lil Baby, Kendrick Lamar, country singer Morgan Wallen, Future, and YoungBoy Never Broke Again round out the remaining five positions, in that order.

Doja Cat is the second-most streamed female artist in the nation, exactly behind Taylor Swift, with Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande taking the third and fourth spots, respectively. The fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth spots are filled by Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, SZA, and  Rihanna.

Globally, Bad Bunny is the top artist, followed by T-Swift, Drizzy, The Weeknd, and the K-Pop trio BTS, in that order. As the fifth most streamed song in the nation, Jack Harlow’s No. 1 hit single “First Class” received some love as well.

Drake joined in on the party by posting the artists he listened to the most in 2022 when people were sharing their Spotify Wrapped lists. The head of OVO Sound was among the top 7% of 2Pac’s listeners in 2022, spending a total of 246 minutes doing so.

Drake’s “Stars Align” duet with Majid Jordan, which was released in 2021 as part of the OVO duo’s Wildest Dreams album, featured a sample from 2Pac. Shakur’s name also appeared in the credits, and the song sampled ‘Pac’s 1995 hit “Temptations” from the album Me Against the World.

Drake has a long history of admiring 2Pac. Drizzy paid homage to Makaveli in 2011 by expressing how much he liked him for both his music and his way of life.

“If there was anybody that I wish I could be a little more like, it’d probably be Pac,” he told The Boombox at the time. “I think more than anything, aside from his music, which was absolutely incredible, I think he just drove people crazy with who he was, the way he carried himself.”

He added: “He was somebody who was a free spirit, and he did not care; he just did what he felt.” I wish I could have a little more Pac in my persona. “I’m working on it.”
