Kanye West And Ty Dolla Sign’s Vultures Arena Listening Sessions Canceled.

Anyone anticipating paying to listen to the Vultures album in an arena soon might be disappointed. The upcoming listening sessions featuring Kanye West, also known as Ye, and Ty Dolla Sign for the album project have been canceled. The arenas scheduled to host these large-scale playbacks in April announced over the weekend that the dates were canceled or quietly dropped.

The canceled events were planned for arenas in Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, Pittsburgh, Nashville, Charlotte, and Washington, D.C. These shows were scrapped shortly after being announced.

Ye himself has not commented on the cancellations, as he apparently deactivated his Instagram account over the weekend.

These cancellations follow negative feedback from Ye and Ty’s opening-night performance at the Rolling Loud Festival in Inglewood, California. The set, which was expected to include some live performance, instead featured another playback of the Vultures 1 tapes, with both artists wearing masks on stage. No new material was debuted during the Rolling Loud playback.

The April events were promoted as a Vultures 1 & 2 Listening Experience, but there have been no recent updates on the status of the Vultures 2 album, even though it was initially set for release on March 8. Ye had hinted on Instagram about potentially releasing “Vultures 2” only as a paid download or through an exclusive streaming platform, rather than the traditional release to digital service providers.

The concerts were scheduled for Nashville on April 7 at Bridgestone Arena, Pittsburgh on April 9 at PPG Paints Arena, Washington, D.C. on April 11 at Capital One Arena, Tampa on April 14 at Amalie Arena, and Charlotte on April 12 at Spectrum Center.

Some of the events were not yet on sale, while others had already begun ticketing. A social media user shared an email exchange indicating that tickets had been purchased for the D.C. venue and refunds would be issued. As of now, SeatGeek and StubHub still show numerous resale listings for the performances.

Ye’s Ticketmaster page currently does not list any concerts. The Florida arenas posted messages explaining the cancellations, citing time constraints for Ye and Ty Dolla $ign to curate production and meet logistical requirements. A representative for the Charlotte venue confirmed the cancellation to the Clture website.

Following the disappointment of the Rolling Loud performance not including live elements as promised, the promotions for the “Vultures” events seemed cautious about what was being guaranteed. Before it was taken down, the Nashville Bridgestone Arena website described the event as “a hi-fidelity audio experience.”

In an interview with Big Boy shortly after the Rolling Loud controversy, Ty Dolla Sign defended the lack of live performance at the arena-sized playback parties, stating, “It’s still better than other people’s shows that have a mic.”
