Kai Cenat recently shared his thoughts on the best albums of 2025 so far during a livestream. While riding in a car and listening to Travis Scott’s JackBoys 2, Cenat pointed to Drake and PartyNextDoor’s joint project Some Sexy Songs 4 U and Playboi Carti’s Music as his favorites of the year. Speaking over the song “Dumbo,” he said, “Drake’s album was crazy. I feel like his sh*t getting overlooked. That’s a great album.”
The livestream clip was reposted by Our Generation Music on Instagram, where reactions from fans were mixed. Some users questioned Cenat’s taste or motives, while others supported him. One comment read, “We love Kai but his music taste is based on how much the label pays him,” while another said, “Kai’s not a Hip Hop streamer… His take on music’s irrelevant.”
Some Sexy Songs 4 U was released by Drake and PartyNextDoor on February 14 in time for Valentine’s Day. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and featured singles such as “Nokia” and “Die Trying.” Playboi Carti’s Music came out on March 14 and also opened at No. 1, with appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Skepta, Future, and Lil Uzi Vert, among others.
Drake is also expected to release another solo album titled Iceman later this year. While performing in Birmingham, England, he told the crowd he was working on the project and had more to say. He has not provided a release date but described it as “coming soon.” The first single from Iceman, titled “What Did I Miss?,” arrived earlier this month and includes references to his feud with Kendrick Lamar and past friendships with NBA stars DeMar DeRozan and LeBron James.
