Julia Wolf Details How a Drake DM Led to Their Collaboration on “Dog House”

Julia Wolf spoke about the moment Drake discovered her music and how their collaboration “Dog House” came together. During an interview on The Zach Kang Show (Oct. 27), she recalled waking up to the news that Drake had followed her on Instagram and sent her lyrics from her song “In My Room.”

Wolf explained that Drake’s interest began when someone at a club requested her song while he was DJing for a small group. She said he played the track, reacted immediately, and decided to contact her.

After Drake asked for demos, Wolf said she wrote new material right away, trying to create something he would connect with. One of the pieces she sent became “Dog House,” originally written as a chorus within a longer song. She remembered his quick reply choosing it, saying, “This is the one.”

The finished version of “Dog House,” featuring Drake and Yeat and produced by BNYX, arrived in September with a cover image of Wolf. The track debuted at No. 54 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached the top 10 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, marking a key moment in her career.
