Juici Patties Becomes First Jamaican Fast-Food Brand to Expand into U.S.

Juici Patties, a popular Jamaican fast-food chain, has officially entered the U.S. market, becoming the first Jamaican brand of its kind to expand stateside. The family-owned company launched its first American location in Brooklyn, New York, in May 2025 to large crowds and wide interest beyond the Jamaican community.

The company, founded in 1980 by Jukie Chin, began with beef patties made from his mother’s recipe. Now led by his son Daniel Chin, Juici Patties remains 100% family-owned and is rapidly growing through franchising. According to Black Enterprise, the company plans to open 57 U.S. franchise locations by late 2027, focusing on South Florida and other key markets.

Unlike many fast-food chains, Juici avoided private equity investment. Instead, it uses a franchise model driven by local operators, often Jamaican-Americans, while ensuring consistent quality from its core team.

Daniel Chin says preserving the brand’s original taste is essential. The patties still include the same scotch bonnet pepper blend used in Jamaica, with a milder version introduced for the U.S. market. A major service overhaul also helped Juici become Jamaica’s highest-rated fast-food chain for customer service.

With long-term goals to open 3,000 locations across the U.S., Juici Patties is showing how Caribbean-owned businesses can expand globally while staying true to their origins.
