Juelz Santana announced that he is working on a new song with Jadakiss and that, as a result, New York City rap is back.
Juelz posted on Instagram on Tuesday (January 24) that he has collaborated with the Yonkers native on a song for his upcoming DJ Drama Gangsta Grillz mixtape, “We In Motion.”
“Yo, I’m telling you right now, me and my man Jada got a fucking banger you heard,” Juelz said in his video. “Yo, Flex all that muthafucking what New York sound like shit, this is what New York sound like. I guarantee you that this is what New York sounds like. We got what New York sound like.”
He added: “This that what New York Sound like that n-ggas outside of New York gonna fuck with too though. “Like, nah, We in Motion, this shit is a good project, man.”
Juelz’s assertion that New York rap had returned follows Diddy’s proclamation from last year that the city had lost its identity and needed to rediscover it because other areas were far ahead of the Big Apple. He admitted that he’s weary of the city being in “last place” during a talk with Funk Flex on Hot 97 when he made the statement.
