Veteran producer and engineer Jon Glass shared a personal message with supporters on Instagram this week, offering a candid reflection on staying connected to creativity after nearly two decades in the music industry. In a caption that blended gratitude, motivation, and homage, Glass opened up about longevity, inspiration, and the importance of preserving passion through the ups and downs of a creative life.
“As we get older, the world starts to beat down the dreams inside all of us,” Glass wrote. “But try to never lose that youthful enthusiasm for the things you love… If you love it and care for it and respect it, it will return the favor when you need it the most.”
Glass, who’s known for his work behind the boards with a range of artists from Massachusetts and beyond, emphasized that his love for music hasn’t dimmed — if anything, it’s grown stronger. Now nearly 20 years removed from making his first beat, he shared that his deeper knowledge of music and production has only fueled his passion.
Alongside the post, Glass highlighted a visit to Don Ricardo’s Record, an art space in Massachusetts designed to spark creativity across disciplines. “Walking into @ricardosboston for the first time, I was surrounded by art and design… Each room designed to bring out a different artistic side,” he wrote. “Def a place you should check out if you’re in MA.”
The video that accompanied the post — shot by Andrew Allen and set to Glass’s own remix of “Ray Mysterio” — adds another layer to the message. The visual, combined with his words, paints a picture of a creator looking back at his journey while still actively building forward.
Glass also gave a nod to his studio’s manifestation board, which serves as both a reminder and an anchor. “The board is there as a reminder: to create what you love,” he shared, noting that the artists listed on it helped shape the soundtrack to his life. “I only hope to inspire them the same way they’ve inspired me.”
From longtime collaborators to new spaces and fresh energy, Jon Glass’s post reads as both a reflection and a reminder: artistry, at its core, is sustained by intention, collaboration, and love for the process.
