The long-awaited biopic starring Keyshia Cole is officially out, and the singer has revealed some “could’ve been” information about it.
Thursday (June 21) saw the world premiere of Keyshia Cole: This Is My Story, which was followed by a statement from the celebrity. The thought of collaborating with the late filmmaker and producer John Singleton was one of the many topics she discussed that everyone found interesting.
She said, “John Singleton, we had a meeting with him and were meant to do the movie. “That didn’t happen back then.” Cole then humorously remarked that they decided against include him in the project because she wanted to make her acting debut as herself and he wanted to take the project in a different route.
The multi-platinum artist’s journey from a difficult upbringing in the Bay Area to becoming a huge public figure is chronicled in the Lifetime movie, which debuted on Sunday (June 25).
