Jim Jones is candid about hip-hop artists he doesn’t think are outstanding, but he also consistently praises up-and-comers who are at least twenty years his junior.
The Dipset MC discussed the weather on a recent episode of REVOLT’s Drip Report before having brief conversations with Lola Brooke and Symba.
I’ve been watching this young gentleman since he kicked the door down in this game,” the 46-year-old rapper said of the latter. He ranks right up there with some of the worst MCs we’ve heard so far, in my opinion.
He’s vicious with a pen, but it’s not just that; the content is considerably worse. Once you hear his songs, I can guarantee that you won’t ever forget him. You’ll continue to listen.
The “Never Change” rapper’s Funk Flex freestyle was then mentioned by Jones, who said: “There’s not too many MCs that can pull that off, and in the way you pulled it off, in a way that people like us understand.”
Symba remarked, “Just to hear how much ya’ll rockin’ with me is a blessing, ’cause I do it for your validation more than anything,” and the veteran said, “Man, you validated. That’s it, champ.
Symba has received endorsements from a number of influential Hip Hop figures. Most recently, Jadakiss extolled the newcomer’s lyrical abilities while letting his raspy voice echo off the mountaintops.
The “Never End Up Broke” rapper uploaded a video of the New York legend and him cuddling backstage at a BET Awards ceremony.
“They don’t make ’em like you, baby,” Kiss said to Symba. They’re not made like you, they say. I’m in love, baby. Dog, you’re one of them.
Results Take Time, Symba’s most recent album, was released in September 2022 and includes guest appearances from PUSHA T, Key Glock, and others.
