Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports Expands Into South America, Acquires Brazilian Soccer Agency

JAY-Z’s Roc Nation Sports has agreed to acquire the famed Brazilian soccer agency TFM in order to grow in South America.

In addition to announcing the acquisition of the TFM Agency in So Paulo on Thursday (July 6), Roc Nation Sports International also revealed that prominent soccer players Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid) and Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal) would be joining the agency’s roster.

TFM has joined the Roc Nation Sports International soccer roster, which has grown to roughly 120 players since the division’s establishment in 2019.

Soccer players Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City, Romelu Lukaku of Inter Milan, Federico Dimarco, Chris Richards, Axel Witsel, and Jack McGlynn are among those who have already signed with the Roc.

Brazil is the epicenter of football, period. According to Roc Nation Sports CEO Juan Perez, “I really relate with a culture that has such a great enthusiasm for sport and music. “This move demonstrates to the world our intentions as our influence in this game grows.”

A new era, Roc Nation captioned an Instagram post with a promotional video for the collaboration. Welcome to the family, Brazil.

Forbes claims that the lucrative TFM arrangement will quickly increase revenue margins because agents take a reported 10% cut of player pay and a 10% cut of contracts in transfer deals.

TFM Agency founder Frederico Pena stated, “By bringing a full-fledged sports representation business to South America, we are providing a level of service that has never before existed in this market, and one that our players truly deserve.

“Roc Nation epitomizes the best in entertainment, athletics, and culture. Joining Roc Nation to advance our business and give our players full, international representation made complete sense.

JAY-Z and Roc Nation took action earlier this year when Romelu Lukaku was subjected to racial slurs during a Coppa Italia semifinal game.

In a defiant statement, Roc Nation Sports urged Italy, its supporters, and the “worldwide community of sports” to band together and “hold bigots accountable to a human standard” in an effort to put an end to such racist conduct in sports.

After Lukaku encountered racial taunts during Inter Milan’s away game against Juventus in April, Hov’s company bought a full-page advertisement in the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport stating “enough is enough.”
