Jay-Z Talks Retirement “Plans” To Kevin Hart On Hart To Heart

The second season of Kevin Hart’s comedy program Hart To Heart will premiere on the Peacock Network on July 14. In addition to Chris Rock, Saweetie, Mike Tyson, Tyler Perry, and Seth MacFarlane, Jay-Z—who infamously conducts interviews with Hart infrequently at this point—will be a guest.

In a sneak peek of that episode, Jay discusses whether or not he plans to retire from music. Jay replied, “Nah, I tried that,” referring to his brief break after The Black Album in 2003.

I’m not sure what will happen after that, he said. “I don’t currently have any plans to record an album or to actively create music, but I never want to describe myself as being retired. Who am I to turn it off when it’s a gift? Additionally, it could take on a distinct shape or meaning. It may or may not be an album. I’m just going to leave it open because I have no idea.
