Kid Cudi has honored the sun for making another trip around the earth by inviting friends like Jaden Smith to perform.
A day before Smith turned 39 on Sunday (January 29), video footage of the rapper receiving a birthday song serenade from a group of partygoers—including Smith—surfaced on social media.
The “Pursuit of Happiness” recording artist was beaming as he posed in front of a birthday cake with candles, wearing a hoodie and a red and blue varsity jacket from his apparel company, Members of the Rage [MOTR].
Cudi traveled to Paris Fashion Week earlier this month, when he unveiled his MOTR line. The collection includes a number of frayed polo shirts, spacious slacks, cosmic designs, and color-blocked coats and features a vibrant color palette. The brand was created with a “90s grunge with the soul of hip hop and components from a distant future,” according to the apparel line’s Instagram.
He described the goal of MOTR to Vogue as “I want people to feel like they’re walking on stage when they’re wearing this brand.”
