Jadakiss and Robin Thicke started working together on a song in 2002, but it took more than 20 years for the whole product to be made public.
The singer posted the remix of his first hit, “Thicke,” which was first released in 2002, on his Instagram account on Thursday, May 18. The song “When I Get You Alone” was meant to be included on Thicke’s self-titled album.
Cherry Blue Skies was eventually renamed to A Beautiful World, which is where the hit—which didn’t have much of an impact in the United States but charted in nations like Italy and Australia—finally made its debut.
“Made this remix of When I Get You Alone with @jadakiss years ago and it’s finally out,” he captioned the picture. It’s the second unpublished song from A Beautiful World, and there will be a third one tomorrow.
Jadakiss has feuded and cooperated with various musicians over the years. However, the New York native and Freeway just resolved their long-running dispute, which started back in the early 2000s.
On April 27, the “Take It to the Top” rapper shared a photo of himself with the “Money, Power, Respect” rapper in Yonkers, Westchester County, New York, outside a building.
“Out Yonkers with my bro,” Freeway captioned the picture.
The next slide featured a message from Freeway and Jadakiss to today’s young rappers who prioritize “beef” over artistic skill.
He said, “I’m in Yonkers with my brother, Jadakiss. And this, young people, is a lesson for you all. You all have a beef, and you think you can’t put it down. And you all believe that it cannot be eliminated. I once had a disagreement with this individual. And now, this is my brother.
“We’re here right now, you know what I mean?” chimed in Jadakiss. they put an end to their long-standing dispute, which dates all the way back to the early 2000s.
Back in 2021, Jadakiss and Freeway finally resolved their conflict.
Roc-A-Fella and D-Block’s early 2000s feud almost descended into violence outside of the trading of caustic diss tracks, but fortunately, neither side used violence.
Twenty years later, Jadakiss and Freeway are more in-tune with one another and even refer to one another as “brothers.”
